If You’re Committing A Crime During A Protest Your A Criminal And Nothing More” Says Donadio
On May 29th 2020 Conservative Republican Politician Barry Donadio issued a statement to remind protesters in Minneapolis and other U.S. cities that if your committing a crime during a protest, you are nothing more than a criminal.
Donadio released a statement on his official Facebook page stating:
“This great man changed our nation by conducting peaceful protests. It is very simple folks, if you follow this man’s example of peaceful protesting, you will obtain results. You may change things for the better. You may even bring attention to a worthy cause. But If you are looting, burning, stealing, destroying property or hurting other people during a protest you are nothing more than a worthless criminal capitalizing on the situation. Make no mistake about it. You will go to a jail cell where you belong. I call for full prosecution of anyone perpetrating crimes during the recent protests. I stand in solidarity with those people who peacefully protest and protest to bring this nation together.”
“I support and defend everyone’s right to protest, but in order for it to be a true protest for a worthy cause, it must always be conducted within the confines of the law. If it isn't, then the recklessness and beligerency devaluates and erodes the legitimacy the root cause for the protest.” says Donadio.
Donadio called on local, state and federal prosecutors to hold accountable every single violator of the law that criminalized protests in Minneapolis and other U.S. cities.
